  And the speaker left ZERO time for clapping, My biased opinion and maybe even wishful thinking was that the speaker didn’t want to hear if we wanted to 'wait for it'... because the audience didn’t respond too well to his second Q.

  Winston. I think maybe they didnt "See" anything. After all, they are not trained in the ways of free thinking and association. I think they were waiting for a 'cue' waiting to see whether the FDS was directing that they were supposed to clap or not.

  "John Class". The Faithfull and discreet Slave.They qualify as every class under the 'son', after all, all the ancient prophets prefigured them.

  Winston. can you provide more detail on this transfiguration matter? Of course, the figures seen were not really Moses and (Enoch?). How could they be there in spirit when they were D E A D . ?? So therefore was the apparent "transfiguration" vision of Moses and (Enoch?) a vision that was not strictly true, but a false apprehension designed to ENCOURAGE and edify the Apostles?

  If you cant tell me their thinking on this transfiguration I will search it thru their WT library.

  well...as some of you already know, i have a pet bird (parakeet).

  i adopted her several months ago from the toronto humane society.

  she's come a long long ways since when i first got her.. when i first got her, she was terrified of people.. 3 months later, she now hops up on my finger, and will allow me to scratch her head and neck.

  Gary, Perhaps they used that reasoning as well as others to back their position. My understanding is that 40 years on top of 30CE = 70CE, the end of the Jewish system. Paralleling to 1914. Id like to see a quote backing what you say there. For my own edification, of course.Y ou could well be right. I know you wont mind me questioning with you, nor do I mind you disputing me. After all, we are mere researchers. Not Gods of WT history.

  89. Those date alterations re 1914 were published in the March 1915 Issue of the Watchtower. Ive got hard copy of that here. Looking thru the www.agsconsulting.com site ,where the Russelian Watchtowers are available, I see that the date alterations have been removed from the current reprints. It is by such methods that history is fabricated. Theres nothing highly technical about it. Its not even vaguely clever. And any decent person would consider it inconcievable that apparently compassionate sincere and caring churchmen would remove embarrassing passages from their publications and pretend it was never said.

  But thats what they do.

  Suffice to say, if any university publishing house engaged in such practises they would be utterly disgraced and callumnified.

  89. Im not aware that they massively engage in the Stalinist practise of rewriting the History books. Their delicate consciences wouldnt allow them to actively Lie, so they insinuate and misdirect instead. The only glaring example, that i know, of an important book alteration they performed pertained to Russells 1914 date when they altered the dates in later copies of the Scripture Studies. I'll find a link to that one and put it up. If you want specific examples of misdirecting the readers of the WT into drawing false conclusions, lots of examples of that are postable. I'll hang some up if you need to see it.

  i think it was runningman who commented in my 'new light' thread about the multi-cultural nature of pictures in the society's literature.. this is the back cover of the new 'learn from the great teacher' book.

  Well they have always been conveying such images since Ive known them. It is apparent though that there are no pictures of a white woman married to an oriental man with their progeny sat between them. So they are not multicultural in the politically correct sense of mixing and adopting cultural variety.Still, multiculturalism isnt something they are in trouble with like the MoMos were in trouble with their "White and delightsome" people and no coloured person being able to recieve the priesthood.

  Another New Rule-----You Can't Record Prayers at the District Convention

  my mother told me that she got a video from a sister that already went to the convention.

  the entire program was recorded except for the prayers.

  the sister said the society says we have to shut off the recording if the prayer is being given.
